Gareth always wanted to fly and joined the RAF on a scholarship at 18.

He was a pilot in the RAF for 37 years during which time he flew multiple types, but mainly the C130 Hercules.  Operating in both operational and instructional roles he completed many overseas deployments from North America to the Far East.

On retiring from the military, a recommendation from a colleague led Gareth to Freedom Aviation to revalidate his SEP, gained 39 years previously.

The friendly environment at Freedom reignited his interest in general aviation and led him to the FI course and he now works as a part time Flying Instructor at Freedom Aviation.
